Racha Yai & Racha Noi

The Racha Islands, located just 20 kilometers south of Phuket, are an excellent choice for a one-day trip. If you’re looking for something different or want to spend more time exploring the local seas, we can create a special itinerary just for you. The two islands, Koh Racha Yai and Koh Racha Noi, are separated by just over 7 kilometers of the Andaman Sea. Koh Racha Yai is the larger of the two and is closer to Phuket. Most activities and accommodations can be found on this island.
Koh Racha Yai: Apart from those working in the tourist trade, most of the inhabitants are either farmers or fishermen. The island offers several decent hotels and private bungalows for rent. If you’re planning to charter a private boat to Racha Islands from Phuket, Koh Racha Yai could be a convenient place to stop off for a night and enjoy the local cuisine. The Racha, a luxury resort on the main beach (Ao Tawan Tok), has a beachfront restaurant that is perfect for a spot of lunch. In addition to beautiful white beaches, Koh Racha Yai has some nice areas for a peaceful hike with interesting flora and fauna along the way.
Koh Racha Noi: Although it may not seem like an obvious place to visit at first glance, Koh Racha Noi boasts some of the best fishing spots in the area and offers experienced scuba divers more challenging dive sites than can be found in the waters off Koh Racha Yai.
The best time of the year to visit Racha for yachting and boating is from November to April, when the weather is dry and sunny, and the sea is calm and clear. However, you can also visit during the low season from May to October, when there are fewer tourists and lower prices, but be prepared for some rain and rough waves.
